Imre was the first PhD student to join the Niederholtmeyer lab at MPI Marburg in 2020. After the lab move, he has continued working on his thesis at TUM Straubing since 2023.
His work focused on developing a microfluidic platform to investigate 2D pattern formation by distributed gene regulatory networks activated by cell-free transcription & translation. Demonstrating the proof of concept, by implementing a trigger wave, we hope that the developed chip will enable us to build increasingly complex patterns that are maintained far from biochemical equilibrium.
We are happy to have him continuing his work as a postdoctoral researcher in the Niederholtmeyer lab!
